Awesome! BUT on closer inspection....
Okay, A few things about this particular remote, but I acknowledge that I did not pay enough attention before buying it so some of what I found lacking was my own fault. That being said, here are the pros and cons as I see them: Pros: Gamecube controller layout! Extra purple button to make it more like the joy-cons if you are used to them. Both the C-stick and regular controller stick will click down, (Apparently you need that for some games.) as well as the + - buttons and a home and screenshot button. No batteries needed! The size is about right, the controller is just as responsive as they were on the Gamecube. Or at least as responsive as mine were. I didn't know how much a difference the familiar layout would be until I tested it out and almost broke my classic mode high score ... The cord is nice and long, you don't have to sit too close to the television. And since it is removable, if anything ever happens to the cord, you can get a new one instead of a whole new controller. Cons!: No battery at all! This one is my fault, I thought that these had internal battery packs and the wire was for charging like my big wireless remote with the joycon layout (a Pro Wireless Controller for Nintendo Switch) does. Nope. This guy HAS to be plugged in to the dock to work AT ALL and has no wifi/bluetooth connection capabilities that I could find. Related: Unless there is some gadget/adapter I am unaware of, you can only use one of these at a time. Making buying more than one to play with friend/s a useless endeavor. Buttons are on the loud side. I did not think this would be a big deal and maybe it only sounds louder because it's so hollow on the inside, but it is a least as loud as someone typing on an old (Clacky) keyboard with the tall keys instead of the flat newer (usually quieter) keys. If you don't mind or have your tv volume up high enough not to notice, no problem. If you're trying to play quietly and not wake a sleeping baby... well depends on the baby I suppose. The weight, is wrong. I don't have a good enough scale to tell you the exact difference but compared to an original Gamecube controller, it is lacking to say the least. The core buttons themselves (A,B,X,Y) are the only parts that feel the same. The D-pad is bigger but that may not actually be a bad thing the old one dug into my thumb when I had to use it. Probably would feel different if there was anything but a thin board of electronics in there, but there isn't. No smooth finish on the outside, it feels like one of those knock-off GC controllers that someone may have bought you as a present because they didn't know any better. It feels cheap. You don't have to push the triggers down very far at all, like less than half the amount compared to an original controller. On the original GC controller, you could pull the trigger down a good way (Like you needed to for super Mario sunshine.) and if you wanted another function pull it down completely until it clicked. That would be impossible with the new product, the triggers act more like buttons than triggers. And on one side I can hear the spring when I use it. There is no rumble, like at all, in fact I was so surprised by this that I went online to research and see if perhaps the ones that were battery powered might be different. Nope! None of the new Gamecube style controllers I could find had rumble, not even the new editions with Pokemon on them! (Does not support HD rumble, IR motion of Amibo NFC) The only advantage of using the battery controllers is that you can have more than 1 connected to the same Switch at a time. Frankly, I find this shocking! What game controllers DON'T have rumble anymore? If something as small as the joycon can rumble why is there nothing in most of these controllers? They ought to be ashamed of themselves. Leaving out such a basic function and charging as much as the originally did. If I had bought one of these brand new from the store and found out how much they were lacking, I would have returned it. I'm astonished that this and all the rest are "Official Nintendo Licensed Products" For shame. So my final opinion is that these were a good idea, but I would be more inclined to actually use them if they had at least rumble or a rechargeable battery pack and wireless connectivity. I may as well have saved myself the trouble and just bought the adapter to use my original Gamecube controllers, at least I already have those! (Which I will be doing shortly)

Defective Controller
Worst controller ever, the joystick stopped working not even 2 months after purchase. It has a full inclinitation to the left which is avoids to play as I should be. I'm so sad, I should've purchase a new one and/or from another brand.

Cheap controller with zero functionality.
Flawed. Would not recommend. It has the same problem that joy-cons do, although it's worse on this controller. The drift is ridiculous, the buttons feel cheap, and the controller itself is way too light. Unusable.
