    About this product

    Product Information

"Fallout: New Vegas" for the Xbox 360 is a spiritual sequel to the critically acclaimed "Fallout 3" by Bethesda. This video game for the Xbox 360 console is somewhat unusual as a sequel for this industry because while it exists in the same world, it is not directly linked to the main Fallout story line. This video game delivers its own story and sense of player agency. Rather than develop "Fallout: New Vegas," Bethesda Softworks contracted Obsidian Entertainment to create it. Obsidian has a reputation for intricate RPG systems and deep storytelling, and those aspects set this game apart from "Fallout 3." The release date of the ultimate edition of this Xbox game was February 7, 2012. The entire Fallout series of video games is based on 1950s retro futurism, and the "New Vegas" game is no different although there is more focus on the current state of affairs than the world being destroyed by nuclear war. The post war Mojave Desert is a lethal place, and if the raiders and monsters don't remind you of that, the cinematic music certainly will. In this edition, you explore vast terrains as Courier 6. The story opens with this intrepid protagonist being ambushed while transporting a mysterious package across the desert to the post apocalyptic wasteland of New Vegas. Beaten, broken, and left for dead, the protagonist ventures forward and must fend off a wealth of enemies including some of the fiercest monsters in the Fallout series. In this action packed shooter, you guide the courier on the road to New Vegas in search of the criminal who attempted to end your life. You can forge alliances, unlock secrets, complete numerous side missions, locate the package that was stolen from you, and ultimately take control of the city. Gunplay is featured, but there's much more to this than an FPS gaming experience. Players are encouraged to explore, solve mysteries, and survive in the environment. Touching on more adult related themes, this game has a rating of M for Mature, which warns that players may encounter violence, drug use, and sexual situations. Support of "Fallout: New Vegas" for the Xbox 360 and other systems didn't end with its original release. Obsidian continued to support New Vegas with patches and five notable instances of paid downloadable content, or DLC. The Dead Money add on pits the player against an ex-Brotherhood of Steel commander. Honest Hearts DLC expands the wasteland with Utah's Zion National Park, and the Old War Blues pack tackles old world scientific research. Lonesome Road fleshes out the story of Ulysses, an NPC met early in the game. Gun Runners' Arsenal adds weapons, weapon mods, and ammo types while Courier's Stash adds all pre-order content into the gameplay, including the Caravan Pack, Classic Pack, Mercenary Pack, and Tribal Pack. "Fallout: New Vegas" can provide a grand adventure on the Xbox 360 and allow players to create and develop their own character, learn additional skills, and make alliances and enemies. Perhaps what makes this game a classic is how your choices impact your trajectory in the game. Even benign, seemingly minor choices made at the start of the game can come back to haunt you and add to your adventure in this Fallout title.

The best Fallout in the series

Fallout: New Vegas is, in my opinion, the best in the series. I've played most of the series and I prefer the story and plot of New Vegas to the others. Fallout 4 has much more in terms of weapon, armor, and settlement customizations, but the level of customizations, the complexity of the tasks, the backstory to your multiple travel companions, the way many of the side quests and tasks connect to the main story missions in Fallout: New Vegas were pretty groundbreaking at the time, especially for a console release. Wether or not you're familiar with the series, New Vegas it worth adding into your collection. The DLC content adds a vast realm of game play to the experience as well. It's worth every penny!

        Riddled with bugs.

The game has a good game play, but is riddled with bugs, and some bugs lockup or crash the xbox system. Seem out of every 3 hours of game play, there will be at least two crashed that need a system reboot and if progress is not saved that progress is lost. Graphics are good not great, but enjoyable just the same with captivating mapping. The game is addicting as all the fallout series.

      • Aged like fine wine

Fallout new vegas is definitely one of the best games ever made in my opinion, excellent story, compelling characters, lvl 50 cap with cyber upgrades to boot. Not to mention the ranger armor with night vision which im psyched to get back. Some people may whine about the graphics quality but its plenty entertaining with the multitude of missions to undertake from killing some geckos out on the range to uncovering a secret vault full of riches, lots of upgrades and plenty of armor/weapons/etc. to spend your hard earned caps on :D

      • Potentially the best Fallout ever made.

Absolutely hooked - just as I was almost ten years ago. Sunk 60 hours into a new character within my first two weeks of receiving. Graphics held up okay over the years, But it’s a desert - so not a lot to look at 😂 - and the story is fantastic. Several different endings and countless different paths you can take throughout your journey. Fantastic replay value for the price.

      • Modern RPG Classic

Fallout New Vegas is very entertaining, with great gameplay and good writing. The DLCs included in the Ultimate Edition really expand the game a lot as well. Essential if you own a 360 and like shooters, RPGs, weird westerns, nuclear age horror, scifi, etc.
