Make and receive all your telephone calls with ease with the AT&T CL4940 Corded Phone. This full-featured phone comes with a built-in answering system, making it a great option for home use. It can sit on any surface or be mounted on a wall and contains useful features like Caller ID, extra-large buttons, and speakerphone. Instead of requiring separate accessories, you’ll get all the telephone features you need in one machine with the reliability of a corded design for fail-proof calling. The AT&T CL4940 is white in color and comes with the telephone base with power adapter installed, a handset, a wall-mount bracket, a coiled handset cord, a telephone line cord, and an abridged user’s manual. The phone is designed so that when lying flat on any surface, the high-contrast display will sit up slightly for improved viewing angle. The white color makes it a neutral tone that will fit in seamlessly with any color scheme or design in your home. One of the best features of this phone is the built-in answering system. The system allows you to record up to 25 minutes of incoming messages, outgoing announcements, and memos. And it’s all done digitally, so you won’t have to mess with or replace tapes or other electronics — when you need more space, simply delete messages to free up more recording space, and you’re ready to store more messages. If the power goes out, your phone’s "Message guardR" memory will make sure any existing messages are preserved. The phone also allows for instant playback, saving or deleting, and skipping or repeating messages from the handset and base. Each call will have a time stamp, so you’ll know exactly when a call was received, and this system also features remote access so you can check your messages even when you’re not at home. Having your answering system built into your phone means you won’t have to purchase separate accessories to do the job. Other features include Caller ID and call waiting, which will show the name, number, time and date of incoming calls with just one glance at the phone’s backlit LCD display. (Up to 50 calls will be stored in your phone’s history as well.) The display can tilt up for easy viewing as well. Dial calls with fewer mistakes with this phone’s extra-large buttons. The phone features audio assist, which allows users to increase the volume temporarily if you’re having particular trouble hearing a certain caller but don’t want to increase the volume for all calls, and also features an equalizer so you can tweak the audio settings to your preferences. The Clearspeak speakerphone allows you to make speakerphone calls right from the base of the machine, and there are extra volume controls specifically for speakerphone audio.
