About this product
Product Information
Taking place after the events in the Universal Pictures film, The Scorpion King: Sword of Osiris chronicles the story of Mathayus (aka The Scorpion King) and his quest to rescue his bride Cassandra from the clutches of the sinister Menthu. With the aid of his sorceress Isis, Menthu plans to use Cassandra's powers to awaken the Dunes of Natash, which in turn will devastate Egypt with a thousand-year desert storm. To stand a chance of defeating Menthu, Mathayus must find and reclaim the powerful Sword of Osiris.

In this side-scrolling 2D action-platform romp, players must guide Mathayus through six worlds, facing off against multiple end-of-level bosses en route to the final showdown. While each world is infested with mummies, sirens, cobras, and red turban warriors, The Scorpion King has deadly weapons with which to defend himself: a pair of scimitars and a large sword.

Weapons are best suited to a particular purpose and vary in both range and attack speed. Additionally, each weapon has a secondary attack, allowing Mathayus to lunge at opponents with his sword and throw the dual scimitars or spin them in his hands. Gems can be collected that will increase the power of his Hero Gauntlet and allow him to unleash more devastating attacks.

Borrowing design elements from many classic titles, The Scorpion King: Sword of Osiris will see players climbing ropes, wall-jumping, or using scimitars as make-shift picks to cross death-defying pits as they attempt to navigate the myriad environments. The title lacks a battery save, but makes use of a simple password scheme to record progress. As an added bonus, players who successfully complete the game can replay the adventure as Cassandra.
