All the bike shops near me told me I would need programming and an additional module which was not true. If you have a cx4 you will not need programming. The replacement however is not easy. It beats paying $2235 I was quoted. If you are quoted about $400 or so for the swap I would say that's fair for the amount of work involved. Took me about 5 hours. I am sure a seasoned mechanic could do it in less time.
