Shipping and packaging were outstanding: prompt delivery with padded envelope and interior cardboard on each side of the stamp collection. Stamp collection is as described and is in mint condition. The original plastic wrap is unopened but has shrunk somewhat which is common. In my opinion this is a good value. Also, thanks for the receipt which for some reason some sellers neglect.

    Great American patriot

My ggg grandfather was a private in Colonel Raulston's 3rd West Tennessee militia at the Battle of New Orleans. He was from Tennessee and 18 years old when he enlisted. His unit, part of General William Carroll's army, bore the brunt of the British assault on January 8, 1815, repulsed the assault, killed their top three commanders, and killed over 2,000 of the attackers.

  • A well done book on an important battle.

A well done book on an important battle. These days Andrew Jackson is much maligned - unjustly because without any acknowledgement of the context in which he was acting. The authors of this book, however, break through the current politically correct wall against anything not meeting modern liberal sensibilities and actually plumb the documents and issues of the time. And they then present a highly readable account of the events. Highly recommended!

  • January 8th is as important as July 4th to our country!

Fantastic story, especially the alliance between the pirate Jean Lafitte and Andrew Jackson. Amazing!

  • I visited New Orleans in October and I was so impressed with The Andrew Jackson account there. So, buying this book, I read it and learned so much.
