        OK, but very weak and difficult to assemble

        This product arrived slightly damaged, but it wasn't really the vendor's fault. It is a poor design and very cheaply made. The main problem is that the metal stem that holds the gate is made of soft metal and bends very easily. As a result it arrived with both of them bent. I was able to straighten them out with needlenose pliers. Then the next problem is to fit the crossing signs and lights into the base. In theory, you just have to push them in, but in fact, they don't fit. If you try to push them in you immediately bend the weak support. I had to scrape off the silver paint from the tab and then enlarge the hole in the base. Once that was done I was able to put them together. N Gauge products are delicate because of their small size, but this product isn't as good as it could or should ...

        Works with some rolling stock not others.

        This Automatic Crossing Gate is a nice idea, it looks good and works but has some issues. The crossing gates only close when the loco is on the crossing, it's weight pushing down on the center bar, the gates then lower but have tendency to bounce up and down as the train and carriages go over it. Also, the center bar is to close to the rails there by slowing the train down and even stopping some locomotives with with thicker wheels. It can even derail some carriages. This item needs some design improvements but it does work with some locomotives okay.

        junk

        put this on my layout, one side would not go back up. about the fifth time around the track the train hit the middle piece that makes the arms come down. derailed my train.

        Not worth the money.

        I had a lot of trouble joining these crossing gates to my EZ track. The rail joiners just didn't snug up. Poor fit.
