Not better than expected, in fact, slightly worse than expected, but quite a good telephone. I expected it to be a bit more sturdy - slightly heavier plastic, but to be less bulky - particularly the thickness (height) of the handset and of the base. I didn't expect quite as many buttons as it has - some of them are unnecessary for my usage. However, these are quite good phones, at a reasonable price, and I am pleased that I purchased them.Not better than expected, in fact, slightly worse than expected, but quite a good telephone. This phone is a joke! The tab to keep the receiver hung up if it is used as a wall phone is too short and doesn't work. It can not be used as a wall phone and it is poor quality, light weight and truly a terrible product. AT&T made the most reliable, useful and durable phones for many years and now their products are terrible. The cordless home phones are a bad version of a good product they used to make. Simple to operate, this brand new, vintage-style non-digital phone is delightful, especially for us old folks who can't figure out today's technology. Best of all -- at least for me, who has lost most of her hearing, the ringing is easy to hear -- which is why I bought it. I have 3 other phones, but I can't hear them ring, and I have lost quite a few calls. This phone rings so loud, I can even hear it upstairs and can answer on one of my other phones if necessary. High Quality Basic Landline Phone AT&T 210M
The AT&T 210M basic landline phone is quality built, the audio quality is superb and clear, can adjust loudness and high quality clear audio. Some basic features added so check the instructions how to setup, nice basic phone, I like it much, hope it lasts years of service! Recommended!

Perfect for my elderly father
My father who is in his late 80's and who's mind is giving him trouble had issues dialing his traditional kitchen wall phone that has hung there since the late 1950's. Basically, he could not look at a number and then remember it to dial it on the wall. With this phone, he can look at the number and put the phone beside it on his table and dial the number without a mistake. Also with the receiver connection on the handset instead of on the wall, it makes it easier for him to make multiple calls. Its made cheaply compared to the old "trimline" phones and I think it may crack if its dropped but what ISNT made cheaply today? For my aging father, once he learned to use it instead of his traditional wall phone, its perfect.
