The Epson Stylus Photo R260 is an inkjet printer that offers users a high-definition print experience. This printer showcases innovative ink and printhead technology that results in brighter colors and smaller droplet sizes. The Epson Stylus Photo R260 also processes photos quickly. Print a standard-resolution 4x6 sized photo paper in less than 15 seconds. A high-resolution photo completes in approximately 30 seconds. You may also bypass your computer and print your photographs directly from your digital camera or phone if you prefer.An inkjet printer produces an image by spraying ink onto paper. A typical ink printer that uses this technology sprays approximately 300 dots per inch (dpi). In comparison, the Epson Stylus Photo R260 can produce images with resolutions of up to 5760x1440 dpi. This results in a higher-quality image with colors that pop off the page. The R260 Stylus uses Claria dye-based inks, which are engineered to resist fading. In general, dye-based ink offers a more vibrant spectrum of colors than pigment-based ink. Dye inks are water-soluble, which means they spread out more thinly on a piece of paper, so they tend to fade more easily. Claria ink, however, has been specially formulated with compounds that don’t smudge or scratch. This ink is designed to keep its color for up to 200 years. You get optimal colorfastness if you store your photos in a dry place away from humidity. Epson also recommends using this printer with photo and matte paper that is manufactured by Epson.The R260 Stylus photo printer uses a DX5 printhead that’s capable of producing droplets as tiny as 1.5 picoliter. The Windows software for the printer analyzes the composition, color profile, and other image requirements of the photo you want to print. The printhead then automatically adjusts its output to give you the droplet size that’s just right for your photo requirements. It also optimizes the job for the type of paper that you’re using. This printer also prints well on different materials, like CDs and DVDs, which allows you to personalize plastic media with photographs.The R260’s six-color printing process uses cyan, light cyan, magenta, light magenta, yellow, and black ink. The printer ships with high-capacity cartridges, but it also takes standard Epson R800 ink cartridges. According to Epson, the high-capacity cartridges give you a 50 percent higher printing capacity. The Epson R260 inkjet is black and weighs a little more than 14 pounds. The printer measures 17.7 x 16.3 x 8.3 inches. The unit ships with a power cord, six high-capacity color cartridges, a basic manual, and an instructional CD. Also included is a plastic tray for printing on DVDs and other plastic media. Drivers are available on the instructional CD that are compatible with Mac, Microsoft Windows, and Linux operating systems. You can also download Windows and other drivers from the Epson website if you need to. The Epson Stylus Photo R260 is a wonderful printer for any home photography enthusiast who wants to print high-resolution photos.

    Last of the best disk printers

    I've worn out two of these printers mainly using it for printing CD/DVD/BluRay disks. 1000s and 1000s. Failure this past time was print head clogged and nothing would unclog. A problem with these printers is it looses it's ability to feed paper - Disk printing still works tho :) Print head cleaning is "all" so even if one is clogged all loose ink. Firmware also insists of a head cleaning before high quality printing - tho there are tricks to avoid it sometimes. 3rd party ink and refillable cartridges are (were) possible making cost per print cents on the dollar.

    Epson R260 Ultra Hi Definition Photo Printer BRAND NEW

    I owned a R280 before this and the print quality was excellent. This one printed 2 pages and 1 cd label before the black and light cyan colors ran out of ink. I replaced the cartridges and now the print quality is terrible, all the other cartridges showed 1/2 full when the black and light cyan ran out of ink. I don't know if the printer was a refurbished, but it's certainly not something I'm proud to print anything in color with.

    VERY GOOD PRINTER AND WILL SAVE YOU MONEY LOTS OF MONEY

    I like this printer because it prints good enough for me, (For what i use it for). it prints nice and the ink is cheap. the new printers being sold now the ink costs $50.00 ad more. This printer cost $10.00 and it lasts. If I need another printer would buy this one again. MAXIM

    Keeps on printing like a champ

    Actually, I've had this printer for years and now it's on last legs because the printer needs servicing. So, I bought this one to replace the old one. I'm looking for another 15 to 20 years of service from it too. I also have another Epson printer on stand by just in case. These are awesome printers I hope I don't need to buy any more!

    Chose same printer again to replace 14 yr old one.

    Had this model for 14 yrs; it was a work horse fir printing my cards. Loved it and didn’t want to start with a new printer with different ink. (I’d have to tweak hundreds of card files to print correctly with new ink.) So happy!
