      A pretty JRPG with a poor plot for a unique battle system

      1/13/22 - Tales of Vesperia is a re-release of the Xbox 360/PS3 version with the DLC included. Nothing else was changed, including the sometimes awkward cut-scenes and the now-trivial side-quests. I actually enjoy the active battle system, and think the open field battle mechanic works pretty well... but the ally AI has much to be improved. The anime to 3D art style is very impressive for it's age, and the new outfits are fun to wear through each cut-scene. I hate the plot... it's mundane and just points the direction of where to go; there's no drama to it, no mass casualties, no war. OooooOOOooh, someone stole a bunch of magic balls and now monsters go wild, give me a break. Just like the original releases, there's still a problem with the few boss battles that contain a difficulty ...
