The CMOS sensor allows for a full frame with each image you capture. Enjoy superb image quality every time thanks to the 3D-Color Matrix Metering II that offers optimum exposure for your shots. The large buttons make the camera easy to use so you can get all the freedom you need to concentrate on the subject. One unique feature of this Nikon D2X camera is the inclusion of a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. This battery allows users to snap up to 2,000 pictures before a recharge is necessary. The camera also features premier exposure control. When controlling exposure, eight modes are available for your specialized adjustments, including manual, shutter priority, aperture priority, and several more. The 2.5-inch LCD monitor provides you with a crystal-clear view of the photo you're about to take. The viewfinder is also easy to use and navigate. Since the menus are all simplified, it's easy to adjust the camera’s settings. All of the photos you take can be stored on a standard compact flash or MicroDrive memory card. The camera is compatible with both Type I and Type II compact flash cards. Any picture you take can be saved in either the TIFF or JPEG format. Both autofocus and manual focus are provided, making these D2X cameras useful for beginners and advanced photographers alike. If you're a beginner, consider using the auto focus feature. The 11-area AF system allows you to focus automatically on 11 distinct markers in one shot. If you wish to manage every aspect of the focus, the manual mode offers intense precision control.Without batteries, this Nikon system weighs around 2.4 pounds, which is lightweight enough to easily carry along on a photo shoot. The camera body of this D2X DSLR comes in a stylish black finish. The right side of the body features an easy-to-hold grip that will serve you well when snapping a photo and moving from shot to shot. With the full-frame sensor, three image sizes are available — large, medium, and small. The smallest size offers a 2,144 x 1,424-pixel image, while the largest is set to 4,288 x 2,848 pixels. When using this camera, you'll be provided with precise white balance control options that allow you to achieve accurate colors in any lighting situation. The ISO settings in this device range from 100 to 3,200. Software comes automatically installed in the camera system, including PictureProject for editing and sharing photos. This software also helps with drag-and-drop organization. With a shutter speed of 37ms, this D2X device has nearly imperceptible lag. Use the high-speed continuous shooting mode to snap photos at 8 frames per second.

        Great low cost introduction to a flagship camera!!

        I was looking for a pro style camera to see if I like the weight and format so I took a chance on a gently used D2x and was not disappointed. It had very good image quality and color rendition and set the stage for my move up to the 24MP d3x which I still own. Passed the D2x on to my son who still uses it and never looked back. Good value in older technology for the camera curious hobbyist.

        Incomplete/deceptive description

        It would have been nice if it had been CLEARLY stated that there was no battery included. I’ve purchased other cameras that state “BODY ONLY” that have included the battery. Even further I’ve purchased cameras that state “NO BATTERY INCLUDED”. This is pertinent information that should’ve been stated. Plus you included a battery charger that isn’t even for this type of battery. Now I have to purchase a battery and charger for a camera that may not even work.....I guess I should’ve known better

        Still a great camera...

        This camera still gets the job done. If you're more of the purest like me, wherethe F2 still makes you want to shoot for Nat'l Geo and the F4 is still a masterpiece, this will make you smile. It's a F5 will digital guts. I found one with not even 500 accuations on it for a steal and I couldn't be happier. You can leave it in full auto for idiot mode or you can render it a fully manual device that gives you ultimate control. At 12.4 Mpxs, it's not the sexiest, but if you are into printed work, you're gonna be just fine. The ISO sensitivity is not where today's capabilities lie, but just fine for the average, genuinely good photohrapher, still. Unless you are filiming a freaking movie, you'll be just fine.

        Great camera- professional quality

        Was Nikons flagship camera years back and is still a quality professional camera. At 10 megapixel some people may think it's image quality is not high enough. But I've made stunning 16x20 prints from this camera. Longtime Nikon user so this body fit right in to my collection of D200 and D90. It's 8 frames per second is the nuts.

        Solid camera, nice price

        I said in my ratings that this camera is not easy to use. What I really mean is that this is not a camera for beginners who have never used a DSLR camera. This camera is a wonderful, budget friendly alternative to the newer and more expensive DSLR cameras and takes beautiful portraits, landscapes and macro shots. I would recommend it.
