Das vorliegende Buch setzt sich mit dem Wirken Luce Irigarays in der Ausgestaltung differenzphilosophischen Denkens auseinander. Die Autorin stellt, basierend auf einer kurzen Zusammenfassung der differenzphilosophischen Entwicklung in der abendlandischen Philosophiegeschichte, den Beitrag der Philosophin Luce Irigaray fur die Konstruktion eines neuen geschlechtsspezifischen Sprechens, Denkens und Handelns zur Entwicklung einer weiblichen Philosophie dar und gibt einen Einblick in das Verhaltnis ihres Werkes zum gegenwartigen feministischen Diskurs und zu politisch-praktischen Diskussionen und Forschungen. Bei Irigaray tritt ein neues Differenzdenken aus den identitatslastigen Reflexionen traditioneller Philosophien heraus. Nach ihrer Ansicht eroeffnet die Suche nach einem anderen Differenzbegriff vor allem im praktischen Denkrahmen die Moeglichkeit, konkrete Schritte in Richtung neuer Fragestellungen gehen zu koennen. Die Schwierigkeit der traditionellen philosophischen Debatte im Kontext weiblicher Problemzusammenhange besteht in einer vorwiegend mannlichen Pragung philosophischer Denkweisen, Methoden und Begriffsbestimmungen. In einer vorgenommenen Neubewertung des Begriffs der sexuellen Differenz versucht Irigaray, eine Perspektive zu eroeffnen, die akzeptiert, dass der Mensch zwei ist. In der Weiterfuhrung ist es ihr Anliegen, eine weibliche Sprache als Gegenentwurf auszumachen, welche die tatsachliche geschlechtliche Identitat fur Frauen zulasst. Die praktische Seite ihres Differenzdenkens spiegelt sich einer Politik der Differenz wider, die es erlaubt, konstruktive Angebote fur eine friedliche Revolution zu machen.
