D'addario has a long tradition of making quality musical instrument strings. In fact, they actually manufacture strings for other, well-known companies, and market them under other names. There is a difference between strings that are made to withstand the rigors of continuous, professional application. Guitarists that earn their living playing, have to be able to trust the strings they are using to stay in pitch, resist tone-killing corrosion, and not stretch out too soon. The pressure placed on guitar strings is daunting. D'addario strings are installed on many high-end and boutique brand name guitars, right out of the factory. And, there's a reason why manufacturers and professional guitarists trust these strings. Once a guitar has been strung, the musician cannot spend time worrying ... You need to be able to put them on and forget them so that you can concentrate on the job at hand - making music. With D'addario strings that's exactly what you get, time after time. This particular set, Custom Light, EJ-26, Phosphor Bronze, 11 - 52, provides all the benefits of a lighter gauge (most companies start their light gauge strings at 12 - and go up to 54), including ease of use, ability to bend and pull, and less hand and finger fatigue, without giving up any of the advantages of a heavier string which include volume and long life. The 11 - 52, EJ-26 Custom Light gauge set is not available from all manufacturers. Most companies go from a ridiculously light set which begins with a 1st string size of 10, and then skip up to the heavier gauge set which begins with a 12, or 13 gauge 1st string. These sets are either sloppy and lack volume, or are so heavy they hurt your hands and discourage daily playing. The EJ-26 set is the perfect compromise, providing outstanding intonation, long life, huge volume, and they're easy on the hands. When you don't have the luxury of worrying about your strings, count on D'addario. If you find them in a great sale, as I did with this ebay purchase, don't pass them up. I don't think you can miss with this string set. Quality, dependability, and price make this a real bargain for guitarists at every level. Jack

Your Older Acoustic Guitar Will Thank You For These Strings!
These strings sound and feel great on older acoustic guitars where string tension is critical. And because they're phosphor bronze wound strings, the tension is still a bit tight, unlike your standard bronze strings. Plus, they last a bit longer than standard bronze strings too.
