Wie denken beruhmte Philosophen von der Antike bis zu neueren Zeiten uber Frauen? Wie stellten beruhmte Dramatiker bzw. Lyriker, wie Johann Christoph Friedrich von Schiller und Gotthold Ephraim Lessing in ihren Werken die Frauen dar? Wie entwickelte sich die feministische Literaturwissenschaft? Mit welchen Themen beschaftigten und beschaftigen sich die Frauen, wenn sie Literatur schrieben und schreiben und wann haben sie damit angefangen? Das sind Fragestellungen, die in der vorliegenden Arbeit behandelt werden. Im ersten Teil und im ersten Kapitel werden beruhmte Philosophen vorgestellt, wie Konfuzius, Aristoteles, Erasmus von Rotterdam, Rene Descartes, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Johann Gottlieb Fichte, Arthur Schopenhauer, Karl Marx, Ernst Bloch und Arnold Gehlen, wobei der Schwerpunkt auf die Darstellung ihrer Meinungen uber die Frauen gelegt wird. Im Anschluss daran, werden in einem zweiten Kapitel paradigmatische Lekturen zweier Werke vorgenommen, namlich ein Werk von Schiller, die Jungfrau von Orleans und ein Werk von Lessing, Emilia Galotti, wobei ein Versuch unternommen wird, die Frauenbilder zu verdeutlichen. Abschliessend und in einem dritten Kapitel geht es um die Wegbereiter der feministischen Literaturwissenschaft und wie diese beigetragen haben. Der zweite Teil befasst sich mit dem Thema der Frauenliteratur und zwar vom Mittelalter bis zur Gegenwart. Die Blutezeit der europaischen Kultur setzte sich im Mittelalter ein, wobei sich auch Frauen, besonders gehobenen Standes, mit dem Schreiben befassten. Gleich danach folg
