      Stop the biggest killer of garage door openers

      The biggest costs in fixing a door opener is replacing the circuit board after a power surge. Power surges kill the circuit board. Here in Maine we get power surges regularly and thankfully we've never had a problem with our openers. The reason is because they both have these "garage door specific" surge suppressors. In short these little guys offer great piece of mind.

      Not sure if it works until another power surge.

      Don’t know if it actually works until I have a power surge. There are 4 terminals to hook up wires, red, gray, and 2 white, which does not work and can not be programmed. Went through instruction pamphlet 5 times to see what I was doing wrong and turned out it wasn’t me. Put wires back on back of door motor and it works. Hopefully the plug will do it’s part when we have power surge. Seems the inside rattles when you shake surge protector. Don’t know if it is suppose to do that. Have nothing to compare it with.

      LiftMaster Garage Door Opener Surge Protector

      Easy to install. I live in Florida where we are just about to enter the rainy season. There is always a lot of lightening and power surges during rainy season, so I hope this product is effective. I have already replaced two boards in the past five years. Hopefully, now that I have installed this product I won't have to replace anymore for many years to come.

      Really Worked

      The reason I bought this one is,when I had my garage door opener installed and the installer used one. Four years later it got fried from a lighting strike. Garage door opener still works.

      Chamberlain serge protection

      This protector appears to be of good quality, it also protects the MyQ touch pad and the sensors at the bottom of the doors. I have had to replace my touch pad before so I am hoping this helps protect it.
