Three fantastic RPGs in one bundle!
Might and Magic 3, 4 and 5 are fantastic, deep RPGs that have fun, if trope filled plots with lots of dungeons to explore and monsters to kill. These games do throw a bit if sci-fi into the game so if you are put off by destroying androids with spells and swords, then this series is not for you. These three games have decent graphics for their time and good music and sound effects. Movement is aware grid based and combat is a mix of ranged and martial. When moving, your party moves one square and then an enemy if one is near will move on corresponding square closer to your party. You start each game with a pre-generated party but you can easily go to the inn, sign in and make your own character. You can have a party of six characters that cover the gamut of knight to sorcerer with a ... You can have a party of six characters that cover the gamut of knight to sorcerer with a fair few in between including such staples as barbarians and rogues. There are two straight casting classes, the cleric and sorceror or wizard, and then you have hybrids who can cast a bit of magic while also being powerful in melee such as Rangers, Paladins, and Druids. Every class has positives and negatives which will have to be weighed at character creation since there are more classes than available positions in your party. Once you have a party and are ready to adventure you will explore the starting town, and invariably die. Be sure to save as these games do start a bit difficult. In Might and Magic 3, leave the starting town and fight outside monsters for a level or two before taking in the Moose rats in town. They are a force to be reckoned with. Another unique aspect of 4 and 5 is that their plots and their games are intertwined. What that means is that there are points in each world where you can traverse to the other, with 4 being called Clouds of Xeen and 5 being The Darkside of Xeen. This is no gimmick because items and keys you will need for some dungeons and towers will be hidden in the other world and you will have to search diligently for them. Overall I would rate this trilogy as an excellent set of games. And even though Might and Magic 3 isn't attached in any particular way to 4 and 5 you will enjoy the games if RPGs are games you enjoy to play.
