    Namco's arcade racing series speeds onto a new platform in this early title for Nintendo DS. Ridge Racer DS distinguishes itself from most other handheld driving games by offering analog-control steering, through the DS' lower touch screen. A map of the track, lap, and record times are also displayed on the bottom screen. The game has a total of 20 tracks, including some based on fan favorites from earlier editions in the series. Wireless multiplayer racing is supported for up to six equipped DS gamers.

        Decent DS Racing Game

        I have played the Ridge Racer series for a long time and this game strays from what you'd expect of it. The game play is decent but like many DS racing games, the storyline is absent and you find yourself merely completing a list of races to 'beat' the game. Doing so also unlocks new cars and such. It can be fun if you like the series and it also allows you to play with friends who don't have the game. Aside from that, it doesn't have much to offer. I think it's a decent game but you'd find more fun in games like Mario Kart DS and games like that.
