UEber das Thema Grundeinkommen wird in sehr verschiedenen Kontexten diskutiert. Im vorliegenden Buch werden zunachst die historischen Wurzeln der Debatte beleuchtet. Bereits zu Anfang des 16. Jahrhunderts befasste sich Thomas Morus mit dem Gedanken einer Einkommenssicherung. Als neuere wissenschaftliche Ansatze gelten in der deutschsprachigen Literatur die Konzepte von Michael Opielka, Georg Vobruba und Andre Gorz. Die Debatte um ein Grundeinkommen wird mittlerweile jedoch in den unterschiedlichsten Gruppierungen gefuhrt und auch konkrete Modelle wurden entwickelt. Die Grundeinkommensmodelle der katholischen Verbande Katholische Arbeitnehmer-Bewegung (KAB) und Bund der Deutschen Katholischen Jugend (BDKJ) und die Modelle von Bundnis90/Die Grunen und der Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft fur Erwerbslosen- und Sozialhilfeinitiativen werden einander gegenubergestellt. Als Vergleichsgrundlage wird das von Ronald Blaschke (Netzwerk Grundeinkommen) beschriebene garantierte Grundeinkommen herangezogen.
