    Good basic starter book for Plant Based Diet

    I decided to try a plant based diet this year and this book was recommended to me by a friend. It is easy to read and understand and does include lots of good recipes. This is a pretty big change in eating habits, so you really need to understand the rationale behind the plan which this book explains. I think my only concern is that this book is several years old and so there are probably a lot newer references for products and foods you can use when following a plant based diet than are noted in this book. There is another companion book to this one by the same doctor which further explains the basis for his recommendations.

    Dr Esselstyn's research is exactly what I needed to keep living. I'm continuing to clog up and what I needed was to stop consuming oils... any oils. I'm not gonna lie, that's rough, especially for a 55 year old meat and potatoes guy. I call myself an involuntary or "conscripted" Vegan. But... live or die that's the 2 choices. So Vegan it is...(sigh) and these recipes help me to find good things to eat and can still enjoy.

    Highly recommended book!

    I really enjoy using this recipe book. In an effort to combat my family history of heart disease, this cookbook is helping me make life-saving dietary choices. There is a wide range of foods from breakfasts, lunches, soups, dinner, desserts and more. The quality of the book itself is very nice as well. I chose the spiral-bound option so it lays flat open on the table while Iโ€™m referring to it during cooking.
