      Excellent, but.....

      I did and want a loud blow horn that frightened people even though they are necessary in NYC for bikes riding in street traffic, this is a loud shrill chirp that needs to be used several times even if pedestrians are not plugged in. Given that my bike is a street stepper and I use it for exercising in Central Park without car traffic, I only need it getting to the park, this is perfect for me, fits many sizes of handle bars, and is well made. How it would work in traffic compared to a loud whistle I don't know.

      A must have horn for street riding

      At 135 or 140 db, this horn will almost break your ear-drums, so you won't want to use it in that mode unless you anticipate dunderheads like in heavy traffic. It will certainly get everyone's attention. The switch set to the beep horn position is a little lame, but my only complaint is that there should be a switch which can be flipped to the shrill high db mode without looking down at the unit because in an emergency situation, you are probably going to be taking evasive action, not looking down to switch the unit from beep beep to shrilling db s. I just keep it in the high db mode all the time. Still a 5 star item.

      The best signal for the bicycle.

      When I first time clicked on the button of this horn, I could not believe my ears. Such a small size and a mega powerful sound!!! It sounds stronger than cars horns. I think that the only drawback of this design is a wired connection between the button and the horn. I hope that the next model will be have a wireless connection.

      Loud Enough

      I thought this horn would be louder, Iguess I was thinking truck air horn...that said it is very loud and loud enough to get the job done, especialy if you hold the button in the siren mode. Great product, good quality. In one of the other reviews I read before purchasing, someone had complained it was powered by a more expensive 9 volt battery...problem solved it is now powered by 2 AA.

      Very loud and I love it

      Great product as I have been searching for months for a very loud bike horn to use on the bike trail to scare away wildlife animals and to have people move out of my way. My only concern is to mount the horn and the button is a rubber strap. I don't know how long that rubber will last over time being hit by direct sunlight, only time will tell. Other than that, this is the best device without having to spend too much money. One thing to note is that the 140db is only for a particular sound and if you use other alternative sound it is at 121db... which is still not bad but it's not 140db for both sounds. This is from what I read off from the box.
