    first impression

    needed a back up pedal, so looking for something of value.. but then again, something rugged and up to the task. This turned out to be perfect- very well constructed, stable, and nice action- comfortable feel. Many pedals in this price range do not have a solid plate on the ground, that makes them less stable feeling. I'd recommend-

    For Beginner

    Expected better quality from Ludwig. Chain makes noise, unless you put some rubber protection underneath of it. There is no Thread to replace it with a belt. Rubber pads which supposed to protect yo bass drum Rheem are on the same level with a metal parts of pedal, it means it does not protect your drum what it supposed to do. I had to elevate it with extra rubber pads and add another piece of rubber on the clip. Spring is too short and too tight for me and because some people complaint that it’s possible that it can break, I replaced it with Tama speed cobra spring, it is longer and better quality, after those modifications it works fine.

    Ludwig LAS15FP Atlas Standard Bass Drum Pedal

    Bought two pedals for my Double Bass Drum set up, Couldn't afford the Atlas pro pedals. Great product, smooth, great feel and action right out of the box. These pedals get the job done for a lot less money. I've played Ghost, Speed King, DW, and more these pedals are excellent!

    A solid pedal with nice adjustments.

    I got this pedal as a back-up for my trusty Iron Cobra. It has a wonderful feel and is easy to adjust for roughly half the cost of an Iron Cobra. I have since bought a second one and am gigging with it regularly. While it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the high end pedals, its straight-forward design and solid feel are worth checking out. I especially like the heavy duty spring assembly with top and bottom rollers. My only complaint would be the need to use a drum key to secure it to the bass drum hoop, but not a deal breaker. All told- a great value and a solid performer.
