Tether should be as big as the holder.
As far as the product, the X-grip is good, but the rubber tether is too small for a full size phone. It's streatched so tight I think it probably won't last long.

I was leary when I first bought the phone holder. I just returned from a 1200 mile trip on the bike and never had a single issue. It actually holds the phone to the holder so well that its actually a pain to take if off. Worthy investment. Be sure to glue the rubber tips on! I didn't think it would be needed and ended up losing a rubber tip that actually holds the phone in the cross frame. I ended up having to order 4 more tips and paying an overnight fee to get them in time for my trip. USE THE GLUE!!I was leary when I first bought the phone holder. Tried the regular mount to hard to put my IPhone 11 with Otter defender case 2 rubbers don’t slide. The bigger size works better and will work with a iPhone 6S with a slim case. Great product made in the USA
