Best capo I have found for mandolin or banjo.

My old capo had a nut on the very bottom which was always in the way so I had to reach around it making chords hard to play. This capo has the nut off to the side and is more out of the way, I'm able to hold chords like I would without a capo on. I didn't know how much of a pain the old capo was until I got this one. I would recommend it to any one playing mandolin, banjo or even the Uku.

    For my Tenor Guitar

I purchased this capo for my Blueridge BR-40T Guitar. This is my second d’addario capo. I adore the ukulele capo of the same design. It fits all 6 of my Ukuleles sopranino to Tenor sized. I was hoping this one would be similar, and it is very similar, however it only works on the fretboard from the first to the fifth fret. Lower than the fifth fret and it won’t reach the 1st string. I use Chicago tuning so the “e” string. I have a Kyser guitar capo that I love in my 6string guitars, but it puts so much pressure on the strings of my Teno because of the depth of the neck. I bought this capo because it was adjustable and because it had a nondescript profile on the instrument, but imho the top of the capo, that engages the strings, needs to be 1/4” longer and the depth possibly 1/8” greater. ...

  • Perfect Fit

The U Shape of the mandolin requires this exact style capo. I've tried guitar capos = way too bulky in size. I've tried banjo and ukelele size = they simple do not fit. Too small. So... if you want a 'true' mandolin capo that does the job with ease... this is what you what.

  • Small in size

Best capo I have ever used. Small in size which make it easy to use. Does not affect tuning of the mandolin.

  • Best thumbscrew capo

I tried this capo out on the recommendations of the folks at the Banjo Hangout. I was nervous, having used a Shubb on my acoustic guitar and not really liking it--it's just a bit too fiddly, lots of adjusting the thumbscrew and testing it out, making sure its tight enough, but not too tight (and finding out I'm always wrong). This capo screws down fast and easy. It doesn't jack around like the Shubb. Also, it's tiny and super unobtrusive, which is cool.
