    Excellent Blu-ray burner

    excellent Blu-ray burner, works well with the provided Power2Go software (also has 2 other backup software tools, that I'm not using, cannot rate). The external caddy is larger than most others on the market, but sitting on top of a PC case, it stays firmly in place. I would recommend this to anyone.

    A Windows/PC unit, Mac owners beware,

    If you have a PC, you will love this unit. It comes with 3 great programs for backup and recording for windows and the BluRay format. However, if you are a MAC person this is a good unit for CD/DVD and very limited BluRay recording. You will have to find a 3rd party program or try the Apple program for BluRay use. Even then there will be some difficulty with the unit due to the poor response to open and close( possible factory problem), On/Off switch difficult to function(again, possible factory problem). I was trying to update my 4 year old Samsung BluRay recorder to a faster model with the ad promise of burn software and quality engineering. Like I said, If I were a PC/Windows person, I would have nothing but praise for it. Going back to my old Samsung unit. This unit was made by ...

    Speed

    Very fast burner. With the correct media this device will burn blu-ray discs at 16x. Compared to my old samsung 6x. This definitely outperforms and surpasses speed in writing to a disc.

    So far so good, burns blu rays as fast if not faster then my old internal blu ray burner, but regular dvd's take to long to burn.

    ASUS BW-16D1X-U BLu-Ray Burner is light weight with great features.

    I recently purchased this Blu-Ray writer off Ebay. The price was right. Included in the price was outdated Cyberlink software. I chose to purchase the latest Cyberlink, PowerDVD software. The software installation was a breeze. I attached the Blu-Ray burner to my PC. I popped in a Blu-Ray movie. I am happy with my purchase. I recommend the device and Cyberlink software to anyone.
