While this was a completer in box unit, it was taped up and the box was damaged. This damage was not disclosed and looks to have happened after the listing because there was no tape in the picture

    belomo vs nikon 10x loupe

So I have used both the Belomo and the Nikon the Belomo is great for the money and had a larger field of view as its a bigger glass element. the Nikon is the better loupe for sure despite being smaller - its elements are made of a clearer glass and yield less color distortion - the Nikon also yields sharper depth of field so you can look deeper into the stone. the Nikon also stays closed where as the Belomo tends to open up and also does not have a lanyard hole

  • Top critical review

Nikon is just ok - try BelOMO at 1/3 the cost

Bought this thinking it would be my main goto loupe. The lens is too small. I bought a BelOMO at 1/3 the price, and that's the one I reach for not this. Larger lens, excellent triplet and quality. In astronomy some of the best optics are from Russia/Belarus so should not be surprising but I was. If BelOMO was not around, I'd give Nikon a higher rating.

  • I think I needed one with a light.. I put it on a chain and wear it when I shop.

Work as described, yes I like it, never had one befor so it’s hard for me to fairly rate it, but I like mine a lot . I think if it were more than a 10x. I wouldn’t be able to use it.

  • this is a good loupe, but the FOV is now bueno...

technically it "works" but the Field of View is small and the color correction is not the best. overall not the easiest loupe to use. but will work for a quick glance at a watch or something
