      VERY strong so you need to work it a lot to make it fit.

      I bought this for a new FMF Gnarly pipe that I installed on a KTM. The aluminum is heavy gauge, so it takes some time and effort to get it to shape and fit correctly. I tried using a heat gun to make the metal easier to work, but it did not help. The best way for me was to lay it on the garage floor first and use a rubber mallet to beat the "fingers" down a little to open them up. Then I held it up against the pipe across the bottom to see where I needed to make the first bend. I then used a combination of a vise, a rubber mallet, and my knee to bend it into shape. It took awhile and patience, but it worked in the end. I also needed to buy one big hose clamp since the biggest one they included was not big enough to fit around the fattest part of the pipe.

      Protects exhaust pipe

      It really does it's job. Shortly after installation the pipe took a nasty hit against a rock. This was the kind of hit that would have nearly crushed an unprotected pipe flat. Even though the pipe was pushed back toward the engine a bit, the dent was minimal and had no effect on the engine performance. This guard does a great job preventing dents, I only wish there was a lower cost way to strengthen the overall shape of a 2-strokes exhaust too.

      Great protection against cost.

      I will place it below my carbon fiber protector: we ride mostly single trail and the CF protector gets beaten and wears off. So, this aluminum piece will take the beating. Not thinking about hit protection but mostly about protecting the carbon fiber protector my bike allready has. Item looks well built and solid. 3 mm thick. If you are willing to pay double the ammount, there is one preformed, by Flatland racing. But I prefered this, considering the cost.

      The BEST exhaust guard!!

      This is the most durable exhaust guard you can get! Far better than the cheap Tusk one and stronger with more protection than the carbon fiber ones. Sure the carbon fiber look good but this is the best money can buy.
