Product Information

A popular dramedy of the early '80s, REMINGTON STEELE starred a young and dashing Pierce Brosnan before he became 007. Stephanie Zimbalist co-stars as Laura Holt, a beautiful young private eye trying to get her business off the ground. Unfortunately, she finds that female P.I.'s don't receive a lot of business, so she invents a male superior for whom she "works," and renames her business after him. Suddenly cases come pouring in, but Laura soon finds herself confronted by a handsome thief who calls himself Remington Steele; he cons her into a partnership in which she does the work and he "takes the bows." This works well for business purposes, but the two are constantly at odds, creating an exciting sexual tension and much opportunity for humor. This collection of episodes comprises the entire first season, including "Thou Shalt not Steele," where the partners face off over whether or not to provide security for a "cursed" painting; "Steele Trap," which finds the P.I.'s trapped on a tropical island; and "Vintage Steele," where Laura and Remington try to solve the case of a body that keeps turning up and disappearing at a local winery.

    in the beginning/ remington takes over

    This series began at this point with Laura dreaming up Remington Steele and him realized in Pierce Brosnun. What a delightful collection of varied situations and locations-full of wit, comedy , smart conversation, handsome lead man, and interesting sets. All the characters are excellent.

    Mr. Steele you're gorgeous

    I remember this show from when it first came out. It is such a pleasure to share it with my 18 year old daughter. However, the climate changed with this series. Mr. Steele was a suave, debonair 'crook' who became a gorgeous, bumbling detective. I love it regardless, Pierce is great suave or bumbling. Stephanie Zimbalist is so good in her role as Laura Holt: a young, stunning Miss Marple who gets paid, obviously quite well, with the peripheral accoutrements. Watch this series for a no-brainer good time!

    A Little Bit of Heaven

    Big hair, shoulder pads, fancy duds, limousines and murder....everything you wanted in an 80's retro series. Been so long since I originally saw the series on TV, it's like visiting with an old friend you'd lost touch with. This series took Pierce Brosnan from a virtual unknown to a star - and rightly so. We loved the series and in particular loved the retrospectives from the cast and producers who explained a lot of the background stuff. As they said, "this was before computer-graphic imaging. These scenes were all real". This series is well worth looking into: it's a sexy adventure comedy-drama that will knock your socks off!

    Great flic

    The very young Brosnan hadn’t developed his Bond swagger but is still quite charming, even in a cheap wig. Zimbalist is on her game, intelligent, very polished, charming and has a sensuality without being vulgar.

    If you love Remington Steele you need this on dvd to enjoy at all tmes!

    Having been a HUGE fan in the 80's when it was on tv, I had taped every episode. Then one of the cable channels starting airing it in Sept 2012. Loved it again so I needed to get all the dvd's as my vcr tapes were packed away someplace. I have watched every episode from season 1 & have found them so enjoyable again. Never realized back in the original showing of Remington Steele just how exceptional the show was in the writing & the chemistry between Mr. Steele & Laura. The comedy is unforgetable!!
