    Excellent Film

    Drew Barrymore is brilliant and intriguing in this film. She aces the part of little Edie. I have seen the original film documentary of little Edie Beale, and Drew talks exactly, acts with mannerisms exactly, face expressions, all of it, as little Edie. I was shocked. Drew is captivating in this film. And Jessica Lang is amazing and acts likeand talks like Big Edie in the original film documentary. This film leaves an impact. This is now my all time favorite film and I intend to watch it over and over and over again. I just won a bid on ebay for two originals of the documentary. I can't wait to receive them. I recommend the original documentary and this film as well, highly!! Brilliant!

    When I inserted the Blu-ray into the player, the entire movie was very dark. Very hard to bake out the characters and surroundings. Didn’t watch. Threw it away.

    A drama worth watching

    I was so pleased to have found this movie. I was aware of the Beale's story, but didn't know a movie of their story had been made. I though the portrayals by Drew Barrymore & (blanking on other actress's name) were both top notch. I though they captured the Beale's flawlessly. You could forget these weren't the actual people. The story was presented in a lovely way, comprehensively & sympathetically. I came away glad I'd purchased this film & that watching it had been worth my time.

    The perfect name for the perfect house

    Its heavily based on a true story and shows that the rich (or in this case, once rich) are no different than everybody else - once the money is gone. The ladies in question remind me a lot of my long lost relatives of my childhood. Brought back a lot of good memories - well, mostly good memories for me. As for the house, Grey Gardens - its breathtaking. Both before and after the restoration - although, I suspect for very different reasons.

    Such outstanding performances by Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore! They captured the true essence of the real life Beal's. Both complicated and tragic, this odd mother and daughter forged a bond defined not only by their oddities but endearing love for one another.
