Sprint Airave 2.5 femtocell works great
Airave femtocell installation is straightforward assuming: 1. You are a Sprint wireless customer 2. There is a high speed (gigabit) network connection available 3. There is a 110 v plug close enough 4. These are near (15-20 feet) a window where the GPS antenna puck can be placed If those fout items uare OK installation is a matter of connecting an Ethernet cable, running the GPS antenna, and plugging in the power. Then you must call the Sprint service number provided and provide the Airave MAC address. There is no initial or monthly charge for Airave service. All this took me about 15 minutes, mostly on hold at the Sprint service line. Then you have to wait for the Airave to initialize - this took quite a while - in our case, overnight. Once it is initialized and you have ... Airave femtocell installation is straightforward assuming: 1. You are a Sprint wireless customer 2. Sprint would not activate the one I purchased from you guys because they considered it a "not trusted" device. They in turn sent me one free of charge. Should've tried sprint initially.

It's basically your own private Sprint cell tower, fed through your internet connection.
It works just fine now -- but I had a terrible time setting it up. I was replacing an older unit that had quit (perhaps from a power spike). The old one was the exact same model, and my guess is that the set up problem was because Sprint didn't "uninstall" the previous unit at their end until, on my fourth call to customer service, I got in contact with an Airave specialist who performed the required magic in the Sprint system.It works just fine now -- but I had a terrible time setting it up. Don’t believe the compatibility checker
Did test on website at time of purchase, said they would work in my area, when trying to hook up when received, sprint tech support said would not work in this area. Did test again, said will not work. Was not able to use either unit.
