Fantastic deal on this terrific release. Item arrived in better than described condition, and in a timely way. The price was right for the CD, and shipping costs were nominal, at best. Feel like I won the lottery. Check out this store for great deals on rare finds.

  • Revisiting Lyle Lovett; or, Timing is everything

Frankly I was surprised that there hadn't already been an eBay review of Lyle Lovett's album PONTIAC. A little more thought raises the fact that it came on the scene well ahead of eBay itself, and by the time eBay appeared, the album might have seemed, well, old hat, considering how time deals cruelly with popular music, even with material that deserves more than the proverbial twenty minutes of fame. Such, I submit, is this album, which, while hardly of eternal greatness, has one song that I suspect will last longer than anyone, even LL himself, might have imagined. That song is, of course, "If I had a boat", which turns-up all over the place, if you pay attention. The remainder of the album is good for what it is, and that's not bad, but "If I had a boat" is worth the price of ...

  • Pontiac...Lyle at his best!

Replacing this long lost cd. Pontiac cd is Lyle at his best. This cd flows so well. He is a wonderful songwriter and performer...paints pictures with his music. Great road trip music!

  • If I had a boat I'd take this with me...

I suppose this album would be considered a cornerstone of any Lyle Lovett collection. Really solid writing and really great musicianship all the way around. It's just a classic LL release: "If I Had a Boat", "Walk Through the Bottomland" and all the rest are tunes that stay with you. Well, maybe the title track doesn't, but it shows the talent Lyle has as a writer. A release from 1987(!) that is just as good or maybe better to listen to now as it was when it was new.

  • Gold

There are very few great albums that have no filler tracks. Don’t have to skip to get to the two or three songs you like. Pontiac is complete and every song is fantastic
