FROSTY THE SNOWMAN (1969) is a heartwarming cartoon about a snowman who springs to life with the help of a magical hat and the love of a lonely little girl. And SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN (1970) is another stop-motion classic that reveals the origins of Kris Kringle as a young do-gooder who works hard to overcome a toy-hating tyrant and deliver toys to all the children of the world. This collection has all of the classic tv Christmas movies I grew up with. So many good memories revisited every time I watch one. The movie quality is great! My children have come to love them as well. Never know when they won't be on tv anymore. Look what happened to the Charlie Brown ones.

I decided to buy this because I have an 18 month old granddaughter and this being her first "real" Christmas (she was only 6 months last Christmas), my daughter wanted to start all the Christmas traditions and have Brooke watch Rudolph, Frosty, Santa cartoon shows. In addition to the 3 classic's on this DVD, it also included 2 bonus dvd's: The Little Drummer boy and Frosty Returns......5 oldtime classics all together. This classic set is fantastic and truly served its purpose. My daughter has it for the baby to watch each year and the baby loved it. It even served the purpose of bringing back memories of when my daughter was a toddler and having her watch these same shows....but instead of waiting for them to come on tv , they have their own DVD set. I would highly recommend any parent ... You do have a choice here. You can wait for that one day each year when these shows will be televised. But first you'll have to actually find the channel, then you'll actually have to be available while it's showing (unless you have TiVo or will record it). Or you can just buy this collection and be able to view it at your convenience knowing that you now have another piece of Classic Americana. The quality of these films is very good, although not great, but it's an awesome collection that is well worth having. And I've found that everyone always wants to watch these movies around the holidays, regardless of the age. I strongly recommend that any avid movie collector purchase these for your collection. The T.V Christmas classics could lose the music.
My husband and I bought this so we could watch the old familiar Christmas classics at our convenience . These are the original tv versions that all the baby boomers loved and grew up with.There are 5 DVD's all together Frosty, Frosty's return, Santa Claus is coming to town, Rudolph the red nose reindeer and The little drummer boy. The 5th DVd is a music CD from the shows but it is pretty bad not that any of the songs were grammy worthy but they are really bad. I think one person sings them all it would have been better if they would have used the original soundtrack. All in all it was nice to get all DVD's in one package without having to shop around for each DVD.
