    Decent Product but WAY too Loud for a Home Lab

    If this were for a real data center or a business data room it would be fine, for a home lab like mine the volume is ear bleeding. The device does work as expected with the caveat that you must purchase more expensive Dell compatible transceivers so be sure to be ready for the cabling expense. Otherwise the Sonic platform I would not recommend for home lab. In a larger environment with properly trained networking staff and engineers it would work wonderfully, but most home labs it is definitely unneeded (unless that is what you are using it to train on). Whether using Sonic or Dell NOS 9 both yield a volume of a jet engine taking off so do not recommend for a place where that level of noise would be annoying or problematic (like said home lab). All in all though, if it were not for ...
