About this product

Product Information

Based on the 2006 computer-animated feature film, this GBA game follows ice age companions Sid the sloth, Manny the mammoth, and Diego the saber tooth tiger, as they race to escape from their flooding valley. The game alternates between side-scrolling platform levels, suggestive of early Sonic the Hedgehog games, and isometric adventure areas, not unlike those in Super Mario RPG. The side-scrolling sections are single-critter affairs, but all three characters need to work together to make it through the overland exploration levels of the game, each using his unique abilities to help solve simple environmental puzzles (such as crossing a weak patch of thin ice or a scalding spot of molten rock). While the gameplay is basically 2D, characters and environments have a 3D look reminiscent of their big screen appearances.

The disc was unfortunately cracked in half in transit (as Canada Post tends to handle packages like this very roughly), but the seller promptly issued a refund alongside discussing better shipping options for future purchases. The price was definitely right for this game, but I'd highly recommend other buyers opt for the 25 cent bubble mailer shipping upgrade!

    Good title

    The game is good and it's challenging, a little too challenging. You really have to move all the characters in order to complete the level and sometimes it's not easy to get them where they need to go, they don't all do the same thing. I bought it for myself but my son plays it too.

    I bought this game for my 9 year old granddaughters birthday. She had ask for it, and I found it on eBay for a very good price. She loves the game, and her and her sister play it constantly. There is nothing I don't like about the game.

    Ice Age 2

    This game is definitely geared towards a younger audience. You play as Sid, Manny, and Diego. This game teaches teamwork, since you can't beat the levels without assisting each other to get through it. It's a good game for younger children because if you can't beat a level you have the option of skipping it. This is a very fun game with a good message.

    Ice Age 2: The Meltdown

    Bought it for my 5 yr old and he caaaan do it, but it's rather hard for his age group. He ends up frustrated and we have to take it away. He plays much more advanced games regularly from his older brother, so that'll explain that it's not just his age group. We had purchased it for it's theme and because there were few actual reviews about quality or toughness.
