The title is accurate to the word.

'Victor/Victoria as a Broadway production with Julie Andrews and with a different cast than the motion picture: Tony Roberts, Michael Nouri and Rachel York; to name a few must be as fine as the film. Henry Mancini composed and wrote the lyrics to all of the songs and Blake Edwards directed the production as he did with fine film. Although the motion picture was released in 1985, it as the stage musical hold up very well. Although Ms. Andrews played Eliza Doolittle in 'My Fair Lady' with two years in New York's Broadway stage and another two years in London's West End, Jack Warner was sure he could find another actress to handle the dialog, sing and dance to Alan J. Lerner's and Frederick Loew's musical numbers. Audrey Hepburn performed well in the role of Eliza Doolittle, her singing was ...

  • see film first, then see musical

Wonderful songs, sets, cast. CHaracter development is limited by stage setting. If you know the story beforehand, this is easy to dismiss.

  • Victor/Victoria gives you the thrill of Broadway @ home

My father and I actually saw this on Broadway. It was an excellent performance and in my opinion it was superior to the television movie. There were more wonderful musical numbers! And there were additional features on the dvd. This dvd helped me relive a exciting and entertaining time with my father. If you have seen it in person . . . well you can relive it. Victor/Victoria is fabulous and just as exciting as being there! And as Julie Andrews says, "You have the best seat in the house!"

  • For Fans of Broadway...Worth the Price

For those that love Broadway shows and are stuck in a place where frequent trips to the Great White Way are impractical...this DVD of the Broadway production is an excellent way to get your fix. Unlike many other DVD's of Broadway shows the sound on this is excellent... I know that most people know that this is one of those odd situations where the movie came first then the show was written to coat tail on the success. The stage production is surely a great adaptation of the movie. "Louis Says" the entre to Act II is an superbly stage number. To see the costumes in the stage version is worth the price of the DVD by itself to me. One of my favorite things to watch is during the oveture that they show many celebrities entering the theatre to see the show. I am not sure who it is, but ...

  • Victor Victoria play DVD

I'm sure it's good for being a play, I just wanted the movie instead.
