Not anamorphic, great sound
The movie itself is by far is probably the best your gonna get for a MK video game adaptation. The dvd could use some work. The 5.1 dolby digital track was great, but the video needed an anamorphic treatment and a restoration process. But, the movie was only 4.98, so, not much to expect. I think there is a re-release with an anamorphic picture floating around, but good luck trying to find anything about it on the internet.The movie itself is by far is probably the best your gonna get for a MK video game adaptation. Mortal Kombat (Fullscreen DVD/1995; English subtitled)
Picture quality is very good; English subtitling is very good; It's fullscreen. This first Mortal Kombat movie is the best of all the other ones. Christopher Lambert in the role of Lord Rayden fits the character so well - far better than any other actor in the role.

very good action
For its time this is one of the more inspiring martial arts movies. It has humor and good fight scenes. Only one or two of the main characters aren't real fighters. Oh well, the rest are.
