    "Gone with the Wind" with fangs and I loved it. Moving, emotional, epic.

    Okay, so let me say that I'm not a vampire movie fan. This is not a movie I would have normally picked to see, but a friend of mine's son worked on the film and his wife had an art piece used in the film, so I had to see it. Drag me... if you will. What a surprise. It was much more than a silly old vampire movie. It was like "Gone with the Wind" with fangs and I loved it. Moving, emotional, epic. Plausible story premise and lots of great scenes. I liked so many parts of it, they're too many to mention. Since I don't see vampire films in my regular movie choices, this was actually superb entertainment. The story works, the special effects work, and darn it, I liked it. Who'd a thunk it.     Crazy 3D fun

    This is a 3D only review of the blu ray. Initially streamed this one in 3D on Hulu, since Amazon Prime Video doesn't offer any 3D. Loved it and bought the disc for my collection (LG OLEDE6P). Great 3D throughout! Lots of popouts and good depth. Very little ghosting - only noticed once for a few seconds in one scene. Crazy, funny story and amazing effects. Abe Lincoln chasing a vampire through a horse stampede, jumping from horse to horse had me grabbing the armrests and laughing out loud. Flyovers of the nation's capital being built were great. Dirt clods, wooden boards, bullets all flying out of the screen in the fight scenes between the president and the vampires. (The movie delivers exactly what the title says.)
