    OK, but not great

    Bought the book to see what to expect when visiting Hawaii this year. This is a compilation cookbook, sort of like a community or organization might put out. The editing is so-so and sometimes the ingredient list doesn't match the instructions or, vice versa. It doe reinforce the fact that Hawaiian cuisine is quite a mix of everything from American kitsch to exotic Asian and Polynesian. Recommended, yes; Good Value, yes; Compelling content, not so much. We ARE looking forward to being introduced to what appears to be a delicious and varied cuisine. Just read carefully if you want to actually cook from this volume.
