My grandson received this for Christmas, and it did not work. I contacted the seller who replied "I'm sorry to hear it's not functioning. The item was never opened. These items since they were made in 1998 are considered collectibles. There are newer furbys that may be more to what your grandson would prefer. People usually buy these to collect in packaging and once opened their value greatly decreases."
My grandson did not "prefer" the new ones. I assumed when it said new that it would work.
