    Rock Hudspm

    This is an excellent book encompassing all areas of Rock Hudson's life. For those who were fans this is a "must" read book. While his movies were very popular and his tv show, "McMillan and Wife" a favorite, little was known about his private life. No one wants to know the very personal details; but in this book we learn things about him other than gossip or movie magazines that was never known to most of us. I bought this book because I had never seen a biography of him. It was easy reading and hard to put down once started. Recommended for fans. Not a book I would want my teen ager to read however. I

    Brilliantly written~A must read for any celebrity biography fan!

    If you're a fan of biographies, this book is fabulous. It is so well written and keeps you interested from start to finish. You get a glimpse of Rock Hudson in a way that leaves you feeling like you're reading about an old friend. It's one of those that you can escape into. I love biographies and I've read a few that I could barely get through, but this one is wonderful. It's touching, heartwarming and you find yourself hoping throughout the entire thing that it just won't end...It's hard not to look at that face too~Gorgeous! I highly recommend it!

    What you thought you knew?

    I grew up watching Rock Hudson perform as an actor and admired his skill and performance. It was a shock for me to find out about the life long same sex orientation. I read the book to understand the dynamics behind the life choice he made. I found in the pages a man who was emotionally isolated yet incredibly giving. Controlling yet spontaneous, simple and yet deeply evasive on a personal level. Rock Hudson inspired intense loyalty but truly had no real friends, just long term confidants. This was disappointing to discover about a man with so much talent and an unusual gift for people connection.

    Easy reading.

    Both books have completely different emotions of Rock Hudson's life. Only those who truely were his friends will really know. EVERYONE wants to make money writing a book !
