About this product

Product Information

Returning for a third bout of cyborg time travelling, Arnold Schwarzenegger reprises his good-robot role from TERMINATOR 2, once again travelling back from the future to protect future human resistance leader John Connor (played this time around by Nick Stahl). We soon discover that Connor has become something of a drifter, his mother Sarah Connor has passed away, and he has taken to the road in order to preserve himself for his supposed destiny. When Connor breaks into a lab to score some painkillers, he unwittingly runs into his future belle Kate Brewster (Claire Danes), and a whole load of titanium-plated-trouble in the form of a hot female Terminator played by newcomer Kristanna Loken. Hell-bent on destroying Connor, Brewster, and anyone else that gets in her way, Loken's Terminator comes face to face with Schwarzenegger's Terminator leading to some epic battles between the two cyborgs, and a neat string of one-liners from Schwarzenegger.Director Jonathan Mostow (U-571) clearly relishes upping the CGI ante for this explosive sequel, providing some no-holds-barred action sequences. Mostow also offers intriguing storylines continued from the previous two films, delighting fans of the franchise. In the chaotic final sequences Schwarzenegger warns "she'll be back," hinting that there's more Terminator frenzy to come in the not-too-distant future.

    Series Not TERMINATED Yet!!!

Although not as good as T2, Rise of the Machines does a decent job of continuing the Terminator saga. Lots of intense action and Kristanna Loken serves as the "eye candy" as well as the machine with no regard for humanity. Arnold still has audience appeal.

  • 5 STARS!

After seeing this film, I still feel that a third Terminator film was somewhat unneccesary, but this latest addition is by no means a hollow action picture cashing in on popular characters. Terminator 3 is a very good movie, with a truck load of action and a few good laughs as well. The story picks up about ten years after the last Terminator film, with the arrival of a deadly Terminator sent back from the future to eliminate John Connor before he can lead the world in the fight against a hostile takeover by intellegent machines. This time the terminator is in the form of a very attractive woman (who we get to see a very brief glimpse of naked when she arrives). I was pretty apprehensive of a female terminator, thinking it was a cheap gimmic to throw some t&a into the film, but I was ...

  • I give it three stars

If you like the Terminator movies of the past it does not quite hit the same level as the last two, but where could of it gone? Ms Hamilton Sarah Conner's character refused to do another Terminator movie with the director her cheating ex husband. So they had to kill off her character, since original is was rumored that the terminator would come back looking like John Conner's mom. I can appreciate this movie though since it was the only way they could go. I wish they would make more but since the obsolete Terminator model is now govenator I doubt we will see another GOOD Terminator movie. So appreciate the ones we do have.

  • Not Perfect but Arnold is still cool,...

Overall I had my doubts about this film but it did manage to do just what I needed it to do. The action is overblown and enjoyable without being the cutting edge in special effects at any time. The plot-driving scenes are good and the main story (behind the action) is involving and interesting, right up till the downbeat ending. I must say that, although it is hardly the most imaginative or inspiring film made this year, it certainly does what you need a blockbuster to do – no deep, pretentious plots, no joy-less acting, but rather a big noisy movie that doesn't take itself too serious (despite the serious plot) and is actually very enjoyable to watch. Nor a great film but I really wish that more blockbusters were like this.

  • For a good time call TX!!

I bought Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines after finally seeing T2 all the way through unedited. I fell in love with the idea of a liquid metal, butt kicking machine that could morph into human form and totally destroy anything in its path. Terminator 3 reaches the same action level as T2 did but this time with a female impersonating liquid metal over steel skelator form. How perfect to have a woman play a killing machine--she can use her mouth not only to seductively comment on how she likes an unfortunate cop's gun but also to dial into a modem to gain computer data. The Crane scene was brilliant as was the FX of a huge magnet capturing and nearly melting the female machine. The corny one-liners also make a return and are actually welcomed and expected in this action movie series. ...
