    Great starter home theater receiver that even powers a subwoofer

    Full featured without overkill and added complexity. Even adds unique tone curves designed to compliment various sources that are above and beyond the bass, treble, bass boost and loudness compensation controls. Originally part of a bundled system, this can drive a passive subwoofer - however be advised it does not have a subwoofer output for a powered subwoofer so if be sure your powered subwoofer has speaker level inputs. The remote control is important on this receiver. Full speaker / room setup and even the tone controls (along with bass boost and loudness compensation) can only be done by remote. Does have optical and digital inputs, but they are not assignable. Best feature is very clean sound, and if you do not ask it to drive a subwoofer - the sheer output power is impressive.
