    This graphic novel was...unnecessary. Don't get me wrong, it was not bad; it just didn't add anything for Superman readers. For Superman fans, pick this up if you find a good deal on it. For people new to Superman, this might not be the best place to start. One issue I have with this book is that this is not in the current continuity of the DC Universe, a minor issue that is nothing I cannot overlook. Another is the way Lois Lane/Jimmy Olsen are portrayed. Yet another issue, and this is the one that bothered me the most, there is a feeling throughout the entire book of "teen angst."     You can see that the Man of Steel movie was based off of this graphic novel. However in this story it makes sense while in the movie they had to replace things in order for Zod to be implemented.
