About this product

Product Information

Activision's take on the blockbuster hit Grand Theft Auto III casts players in the role of a Los Angeles detective bent on revenge. As Nick Kang, players will comb the streets from inside a variety of vehicles as they embark on a series of 20 missions in a storyline inspired by Hong Kong cinema. Unlike Grand Theft Auto III, however, players are working for the law rather than against it. Missions range from stopping robbery attempts to arresting perps based on tips gleaned from informants, and players are free to leave their vehicles at any time to continue the mission on foot.

Players will also be able to complete 100 sub-missions outside of the main story to earn extra cash and to further one's ranking and reputation. Various shops such as gun ranges, dojos, and auto simulators allow players to improve their character's skills in hand-to-hand combat, driving prowess, and in using firearms. Developed by the team responsible for the Vigilante 8 series of vehicular combat titles, True Crime: Streets of L.A. features an estimated 240 square miles of Los Angeles terrain. Each mission can be completed in a number of ways, with consequences for each action.

The disc was unfortunately cracked in half in transit (as Canada Post tends to handle packages like this very roughly), but the seller promptly issued a refund alongside discussing better shipping options for future purchases. The price was definitely right for this game, but I'd highly recommend other buyers opt for the 25 cent bubble mailer shipping upgrade!

Nice seller and the controller matches the description! Accidentally didn't include the USB cable to charge it but they admitted it before the item arrived and shipped a second package for it.

  • TRUE DRIVING. TRUE FIGHTING. TRUE SHOOTING. GREAT GAME!

To start out with, when I originally saw the preview for this game, I thought it was a renter. Sure it sounded nice, but how many "Street Fighter" clones can one company release? To my great shock however, I found myself reaching for this game at Wal-Mart and, almost in a catatonic state, slamming the $29.99 down for it on the counter and walking away somewhat content, but mystified as to why I wanted to buy this game. Then I put it in and my entire view changed in a matter of minutes. Though we may each have our own views as to what we may think of certain games, it is my opinion that True Crime is amazing. Amazing in the fact that it was actually done right and couldn't have gotten any better. As a matter of fact, I gave this game a flat out "A" because I couldn't find a darn thing ...

  • Sticky gameplay

This game is kind of..."sticky"??? I'm thinking that's the best word to describe the movements of the character and the gameplay. I actually played and beat True Crime: New York City and I'm very much looking forward to True Crime: Hong Kong. It's seems like they're continually getting better with the gameplay and features of the game. I only went back and got "Streets of L.A." because I was so impressed with "New York City". Little did I know, it was a True Downgrade. I'm still going to finish the game just to show my support of this series. I can tell that "Streets of L.A." was the first of it's kind because in "New York City" I could do everything including getting my haircut! Very real life like. ...

  • Good Video Game

This game is very good easy to play. This game has very good graphics, sound, and control. And this game is very cheap. So if you like shooting, driving, killing games go get this game.

  • THIS GAME ROCKS!!

True crime streets of LA. This is one of the better GTA clones out there plus the fact that you can play as Snoop Dogg is just so much fun. And the hole automatically aiming at the tires of a car I so sweet the hand to hand combat is pretty cool to but handcuffing a guy was pretty frustrating for me. The driving is fun the hole driving the doing a 180 & shooting behind you is pretty unique over all this is a great game.

  • It's very cool, unlike other games in this genre

Very cool & fun game. So happy I got it,and for only 4$, it was quite a deal!! My girlfriend is smoking hot, I played the game for 7 hours... You figure that one out. Thankfully she is super cool about stuff like that. She just sits around making jewelry while my buddies and I play video games, never has bitched about it once.
