Shortly after I returned this item I was advised, with pictures, that the glass in the scanner was broken. And ultimately I received no refund. This damage was not there when I sent it off. The package was marked fragile, the seller did not show me a picture of the box it arrived in. To be short, I think the package was damaged during return. NOT MY FAULT. All take a picture of all returned items!!!!!!!! I very dissatisfied with this seller.

    Awesome gaming laptop but overheating issues

    I'm very happy with my purchase but I knew about the heating issues beforehand. There is a great thread on Asus ROG official forum about how to deal with them. Although the last BIOS 305 update reduces the temperatures just enough so it's not a huge issue anymore I followed their advice and temperatures are pretty good at this point. IMO the cooling system exhaust pipe is not well design and the bottom lid doesn't have enough vents to allow for a decent air flow. However only by undervolting CPU and GPU and increasing the speed of the fans I'm having great results. Once the warranty expires I'm planning on adding more vents on the bottom and replace the thermal compound with a high quality one. In terms of performance I can play in ultra most of this year new games, touchpad is nice, ...

    This is a great laptop for editing photos.

    This is my third ASUS ROG laptop over the last ten years. (I accidentally broke several keys off on one and plugged into the wrong ac power supply on the second: all my fault). I always max out the RAM to 32 GB and added a second hard drive (mine has a designed expansion cavity). Overall, a very good laptop for photo editing. The graphic card (1060) is only 6 GB but acceptable for Photoshop and editing software.

    Great laptop...still some room for betterment...

    I bought it from $1149.00 and for that price this is an awesome deal. However here are some down sides. As of now, it is giving only 2-3hrs battery life, if you are really working on it. I honestly wish if it could give more battery life. Also, when you keep it on your lap, you feel the heat in 10-15min. I didn't like the way the End/Home button got merged with the numpad!!! Whew.... :( I agree this is a game laptop, but you cant completely ignore typing as this is still a computer and not a gaming station and these two keys are unavoidably major ones, when you fiddle around with the keyboard. So please bring them back as standalone keys rather than merging/mixing it with other keys!!! So with these issues, for now I am giving only 3 rating. If these are taken care, would give a full 5 ...
