    A complete rethinking of the possibilities of the comic-book genre

    Very interesting approach to the comics format. Great antidote to the superhero genre -- it's the ordinary man genre. Pekar's honesty about himself is refreshing.

    Terrific comic!

    After seeing the movie "American Splendor" I was very interested in seeing where it all came from. Harvey Pekar's stories are captivating, even being droll everyday life. Needless to say I'm still enjoying the book.
