A Classic?
In this copy (paperback), I fail to really appreciate what was touted to be a great example of Cape Cod photography. Perhaps the first release of the book (in hardcover), featured better print and plates truer to the original pictures. To be certain, Meyerowitz captured many older Cape scenes that I've seen firsthand, but my purchase of this book left me wondering why a recent photography instructor recommended studying the art of this photographer. In this age of digital photography and computer processes, I dare say that this paperback version failed miserably to inspire me. Yes, some compositions are exquisite, but the quality of my paperback copy lacked the "pop" to really show what Meyerowitz had captured with his equipment.
