    Classic

    The one and only true Scrooge, Alister Sim masterful acting compels you to both dislike him and he is able to impart the emotions of joy in us all. It is provoking insight into loss in life and finding ones purpose. Great in every way. I highly recommend it as one of the all time great Christmas movies without question.

    Restoration Not So Great

    I was looking forward to watching the restoration of this timeless beautiful classic movie. The video is beautifully restored, but the audio is awful. The volume is very low throughout, and in certain areas of the film there is a fuzzy buzzing sound. It is definitely not worth the money I paid for it.

    Excellent title

    My parents and I have always enjoyed this movie. We watch it every Christmas Eve. It's an excellent movie, especially with Allistair Sim acting as Scrooge. It's sad, funning, and scaring all at the same time. And I believing that there is also a lesson with it: helping your fellow man and being kind to others. Thank you. Laura Derkson

    Best Version Ever

    I've been watching Alastair Sim in A Christmas Carol since I was A child so I might be a bit prejudiced. The great, great, great, granddaughter would not release the 1951 film unless she felt it was as close to the book as possible that her fore bearer, Charles Dickens had written. The cd shown is the original black and white version and has subtitles in the original vernacular, if you have any trouble with your hearing as I. Worth turning on at least once. I hope, if you watch this marvelous movie, and you enjoy it as much as I have, all these years.

    Great restoration of best film of this classic story

    I’ve watched other attempts to bring Scrooge’s story to film, but for me this one is the best. This restored version brings back all that great black-and-white of the original film with no skips and no crackles.
