About this product

Product Information

This 1980 drive-in classic from Roger Corman's New World Pictures gives B-film lovers a great mishmash of sex, violence, and monsters in one ridiculously fun package. The sleepy fishing village of Noyo begins to experience a wave of violence. Men are being murdered and women are being abducted. It comes to light that a genetic experiment has gone awry, and a race of half-man/half-fish creatures are rising from the sea... to mate with human women! Features the late Vic Morrow, a great twist ending, and an early score from TITANIC composer James Horner. Corman remade the film in 1997 for a series on the Showtime cable network.

  • Humanoids From the Deep (aka Rape-O-Rama)

One of my all-time favorite horror films, Humanoids From the Deep is the Roger Corman produced film about a small fishing community being overrun by fast evolving frog monsters from the sea that come up and tear people apart, not to mention rape the young, buxom naked women (the nudity in this film is phenomenal). It's up to a couple of locals (including the late Doug McClure) and scientist (Ann Turkel) whose company played a role in creating the creatures, to stop them once and for all. Feminist director Barbara Peters (albeit with the help and guidance of Corman) manages to direct a fun and engaging graphically violent monster movie. The film serves as some heavy-handed irony though, as Peters had originally intended to present an allegorical feministic approach towards the film, which ...
