About this product

Product Information

The History Channel-licensed series of war simulations continues with the release of Civil War -- The Battle of Bull Run, focusing on the first battle of the American Civil War. Players can choose from the following three game modes: open play, custom battles, and the Bull Run campaign. The main game is a collection of scenarios that simulates the conditions found on July 21, 1861, where 35,000 Union and 22,000 Confederate soldiers fought at Manassas Junction, Virginia. Players can attempt to re-create history or devise new tactics with the infantry, cavalry, supply wagons, and other units available in regiments and brigades. Variables such as morale, fatigue, location, and troop experience are designed to realistically affect battle outcomes. A total of four battlefields are available, each authentically modeled using historical records found in the Library of Congress.

  • Battle of Bull Run- the Video Game

This is a great game for people who love strategy games. It allows players to fight the battle of Bull Run/First Manassas, the first major battle of the War Between the States. It has a few tutorials on the game, so it can make learning to play the game a bit easier. Even on easy mode, it gives you a challenge, so that you're not constantly fire at enemies that retreat after your first shots. Some levels (especially the Confederate levels) are harder than others, but it is still easy to learn and correct any mistakes made in earlier play. Once you have mastered the Bull Run section, the open play section allows for multiple battles to be fought, none of them are the same (even the same level changes tactics when you play it again). It is a wonderful video game adaptation of the battle, and ...

  • Lost but now found

I bought this item for my son for Christmas. I will give it to him then. We had this game before, but it somehow got lost. My two sons loved this game, and they will be happy to play it again. They both love Civil War history and like the way the game is set up with regiments, brigades, etc.
