Positive experience with this seller! They sent the book in a padded mailer and there was only a minor tear in the cover that I didn't see in the photos or in the description of the listing for the item. Overall, still very satisfied as the seller accepted my offer for a lower price quickly. Thank you! So happy to have this to read now!

The only way to watch Dragon Ball Z

The Dragon Boxes are the definitive way to watch Dragon Ball Z. In the original 4:3 aspect ratio designed for old boob tube TVs (RCT TVs), this show really shines. With all of the original grain and errors made when illustrating and producing this project, you can see Dragon Ball Z the way it was meant to be watched. It looks terrible and that's what makes it beautiful. Do not watch old TV shows like this in the 16:9 widescreen format. You're missing out on a lot of video information and you're doing yourself a disservice in doing so. 4:3 is the way to go. Down with the orange brick set and damn the Blu-ray set. The Dragon Boxes are the best and always will be. Totally worth every months paycheck spent on this collectors piece.

  • Good Buy!

Dragon Ball Z Dragon Box Volume 1 is an awesome collection of restored and un-cut goodness from FUNimation, supposedly for the "hardcore DBZ fan"? Why, you ask? Apparently, the recently released volumes of the Dragon Ball series was cut slightly different and as a result it is not presented in the original 4:3 aspect ratio (also the color is slightly different). They are also completely un-cut and include the complete opening credits, ending credits and episode previews. Sadly, the Dragon Boxes released in the U.S. are a bit different, as the Japanese version was released with half of the series and the U.S. version has the entire Saiyan Saga and the first few episodes of the Frieza Saga. That leaves us waiting for the rest to be released, although the price difference ...

  • Best release of DBZ

I'm sure all of you know what these are all about, but let me list all of the great features that these have. -frame by frame remastering, carefully remastered by hand, all of the original colors are beautifully presented -4:3 FULL SCREEN!!!!!! No 16:9 cropping -original japanese audio defaults to japanese w/english subs. Includes english dub but no english music (no Bruce Faulcner) -original beginning/ending credits w/original songs-original japanese title cards-original next episode previews (japanese only) -packaging is much nicer quality that any other US release. Includes extensive hardcover collectible Dragonbook (somewhere around 80 Pgs) -disk artwork resembles that of the japanese Dragon Boxes In other words, if you are deciding on wether or not to get ...

  • The perfection for DBZ Collectors

I watched every version there is about Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT and Movies and OVA and much more.. These box sets are the best out there, made from the original Japanese box, the frames are not cropped and is FULL SCREEN Best quality there is, better then the Blurays for only 1 reason, all though the blurays frames where remastered and some reconstructed and enhanced the frames where centered and zoomed sometimes, which we lost part of so frames. The box sets have the full frames as originally aired on Japanese TV. This set is discontinued and is more rare years after years.. it took me 3 years to find a perfect copy of dragon box set 2 to finish my collection. This is the best version because it makes an awesome images slide show trough the boxes when aligned and ...

  • It's Like a Brand New Series

I grew up watching DBZ on Cartoon Network. I had no idea how much editing was done to the dialogue and video. Watching this uncut version with the original Japanese audio and subtitles is great. It's like a whole new show. The only minor complaint I have is the Japanese audio quality isn't the best. This is only a very minor complaint. The packaging is of quality design. No flimsy casing here. Nice thick cardboard case that encloses a hardcover book and two dvd holders containing 3 discs each. I am very happy with the purchase and already have the second dragonbox on its' way.
